Here at Sandy’s, we love summer. There’s nothing better than going to Folly or Sullivan’s Island on a hot day. But with more adventures brings more dirty clothes so we’ve compiled some tips on how to keep your summer laundry as clean as possible!
We love getting a new swimsuit for summertime but sometimes they can be difficult to keep clean. To avoid stretching the fabric, never wring your swimsuit out. Always air dry your swimsuit to make sure it maintains it’s normal shape. Also, you should always rinse out your swimsuit after swimming. It’s okay if you can’t put it in the washing machine right away but a little rinse can help get some of chlorine or salt out of your swimsuit to avoid staining or discoloration.
As far as towels go, they may seem clean but there is a good chance they are not. A lot of people don’t realize the importance of cleaning towels frequently. Before throwing your beach towels into the washing machine, it’s a good idea to let them dry if you can. If your towel is super sandy and needs a deep clean, you can soak it in white vinegar. Put your towels in the washing machine, fill it with hot water, and pour a cup of white vinegar into the washer and let them sit for a hour. After that, run your washing machine on a normal setting and voila, you have towels that are practically new!
